2 Principles That You Should Follow if You want to Make Money Blogging

February 9, 2010 · 16 comments

Money, money and money. Money is not everything but we need money in our life for food, education, travel, hospitality and etc. There are many ways to make money online which are through blogging, affiliate and selling digital product.

Blogging and affiliate are famous way to make money online as they have been proven by many expert probloggers and internet marketers. But I’m not going to talk about affiliate or selling digital product. I want to focus on blogging which money come 100% from advertising.

Last night, a boy pm me in Facebook. He asked me about blogging and how do I make money blogging. He told me, he has been blogging in years but he couldn’t see ways to make money with his blog.

As usual I asked his blog URL and guess what? He is using blogspot.

So….

Principle no 1 – Get your own .COM blog!

.COM blog will show your credibility to people as well as to advertiser. If I’m a company owner and I want to advertise my company, which blog do you think that I will advertise at? wordpress self-hosted or blogspot? Of course I will choose someone who has his own self-hosted blog. This is a fact. Nobody can change. Nuff said…

Principle no 2 – Do not rely on 1 blog!

Ask Darren, John Chow, David Risley, Daniel Scocco(did I spell his name correctly? my bad) and other established bloggers. They has several blogs with small niche. So don’t frustrated if you’re not making huge money because you have only one blog.

hey, don’t talk to me about affiliate as I write this more to blogging. No product selling, no autoresponder, no landing page, no sales letter and so on. Just write article, bid for job, selling text link will increase your monthly avenue.

Final thought

I have 10 small niche blogs (coming more soon). If each blog give me 10USD/day, how much my monthly income? Do mathematics lol.

Blog income is proven fact and may be that’s why we see new blog every now and then and very soon the disappear or stop update. One have to do hard work and must have patience to get success on blogging. I too don’t like affiliate, may be because I’m not well fit for that.

Getting your own domain is essential.
Even if I can get 10$ a day from 1 blog for starters it will be awesome. :D

I find it is hard to maintain so many blog — how exactly do you maintain all of the ten blogs? I wonder about it.

Hi bro, how are you? I am back to my work. I have joined in one SEO firm recently, so I can not be able to work for my blog. How is going on blogsphere?

$10/day is good actually. A month, $300…That’s sound very good =)

Nearly RM10000/month. That is truly achievable.
Oh and do you see a pattern where those that said money isn’t important keep getting poorer everyday?haha
Lotsa people need major overhaul on their mindset.

I agree that you need your own domain name, I can’t say that I agree with only having one blog. With enough effort and drive one blog can far exceed what a small network of blogs can.

@izzat – I took 1 year to achieve steady income. Though it is not huge money but it is enough to cover my spend

@pubudu – only take my advice if you think you can manage many blogs by your own

@Arafat – I will try affiliate soon once I satisfy with blogging/ advertising income. This is my future plan

@Selurus – Sure, if you work hard on blogging, nothing impossible

@Dana – I can hire freelancer to update my blog from 3-5$ for each article if I don’t have time for it.

@Chandan – Hi bro, I thought you don’t want to read my blog anymore. How are you? I’m fine here. Getting busy with my intern.

@Blinky – You can do the same too!

@Amir – sometimes it’s more than that, sometimes it’s less than that. It depends on how much job I received from advertisers.

@John – That’s right. Once a blogger has established, he can make much money from one blog. But I see the pattern that most successful bloggers earned money from several niche site then only they concentrate on 1 blog.

@Lizz – buying domains like buying real estate. The more we have, more chances for us to get more money.

Hi fazreen,

We are still trying to figure out how much we earned from our blogs everyday. But if we could pass the $10 benchmark it will be a great achievement.
