3 Easy Steps to Download Your Favorite Youtube Videos

August 19, 2009 · 10 comments

There was a time when one would have to buy video CDs if they had to watch their favorite videos or for that matter hire movie CDs from the movie parlor to watch the movie of their choice. But now, gone are those days. The present day technology is truly proving itself to be a curse for the CD companies and the movie parlor owners. With the creation of sites like Youtube.com, not many people today are interested in buying even pirated CDs, leave alone the original ones.

If you thought that the reason for the huge craze about Youtube is just because one can get it online in the midst of homely comfort, then you are not fully correct. It’s true that Youtube lets you watch your favorite videos but there are other reasons behind its popularity as well. First, the viewing is absolutely free!! So you see, whether it is a 100 year old movie or the recent Brad Pitt movie that’s just released, you can watch it all without paying a single penny for it. We are sure you love your money and so does everyone, and this is the prime reason for the worldwide success of Youtube.

The second reason for the success of this site is its incredible collection. As we just mentioned, be it a 100 year old movie (for that matter even older than that) or the most recent movie that may still be running in the theatres, you will have it all on Youtube. All you need to do is just enter the keyword of your choice and the video will be there at your disposal.

The next good thing about Youtube is that it allows you to download the movies as well. So, if you are not satisfied by just watching those videos but want to add them to your collection, then Youtube is just the right site for you. Youtube wouldn’t have been such a success had it not offered its visitors this feature.

You see, there are a number of online sites that allow you to watch from a huge collection of movies and videos but they are not as successful as Youtube. The only reason for this is that they don’t allow you to download the movie, which means that you will not be able to add the movie/video to your collection; moreover, you will not be able to postpone your viewing of the item to a later time. You will have to watch the movie then and there once the buffering is completed since these sites provide you nothing like a saved buffering!

Another advantage you enjoy with Youtube is that you can upload your personal videos on the site so that the world can view it.

If you are not well acquainted with Youtube and are wondering how to download videos from the site then here are 3 quick steps to help you download videos from Youtube:

1. Get the Youtube Downloader Software from http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ . Don’t worry, it’s free!

2. Enter the URL of the video of your choice

3. When saving the file, make sure you save it in .flv format

So you see, downloading cool videos from Youtube is really very easy!

Personally I prefer to use ultraget.com since it makes it possible to download videos directly from their page, instead of having to download a software.
