Promoting a Blog Is Essential To Get Success

Promoting a blog is a must do thing to get success online especially you have intention to make money online. Promotion is the 3rd step and never-end step after you buying a domain, hosting then set up a wordpress blog.

Let me simple it as an equation :

DH + WP + PPP = success

DH = domain & hosting

WP = wordpress blog

PPP = promotions, promotions, and promotions.

See..the most important thing step is promotion. Why? Without promoting your blog never grow up!

The mistake made by most of newbies, including me is just waiting for people to come and visit their blog. Many people have a dream to build a successful blog. But they don’t know how to do, they don’t know how to make it on a right way.

Ok, I’m writing this to help them a little bit in promoting their blog especially for newbies. But if you are an expert or intermediate, I’m glad if you want to copycat my strategy. You may do so.

4 Rockin Ways To Promote Your Blog

1. Commenting

This is the basic one. After you set up a blog and published a content go blog walking or sometimes people call blog hoping. Blog walking to others blog and start leave a genuine comment. Don’t be shy. Don’t think ” ah! they don’t know me, they will not look at my comment though, why should I leave a comment” Think smart, if you not show off yourself to the community, nobody know your existence. Don’t be a silent reader. I believe, most of old timer bloggers will welcome you to the blogsphere. I may cut my finger if your blog don’t receive any traffic after commenting on others.

2. Write on your own and ask your brain to help you.

Hey guys, you just stepping into blogsphere don’t be lazy. Force yourself, force your brain, force your creativity to write. Don’t copycat people’s writing although I allow you to copycat my strategy. People read your blog because they want to ready your writing, your personal thought. If they find out you just copycat from someone else, they will fuck your blog up. One more thing, I don’t put this strategy in no 1 because, I want you get your tune first. Go see and read other blogs let the ideas pour into your brain. I knew it’s hard to write for the first time. I was also having the difficulty to write for the first time on my blog.

3. Use social bookmarking

It is good to know a list of social bookmarking available (also knows as Web 2.0). But trust me, go to the basic and famous one. Like, Technorati, Digg, and Stumbleupon. Why use social bookmarking? If your content is good why not promoting to the world. Bookmark it at social site. So your child can read them 10 years later. Always expand the number of readers. Just imagine, if you only do commenting how much blog you can reach per day? I’m myself only can reach 10-20 blogs per day. But if you use social bookmarking hundred of blogs and thousands of people can be reached.

4. Use social networking

I suggest you to use Facebook and Twitter. They are great social networks nowadays. What you need to do is set up an account in both sites if you don’t have one yet. Start building your community or network. What I did is, when I blog walking I’ll look at their about page to see either they have Twitter or Facebook account or not. I’ll add up if they have. Besides visiting their blog everyday I can connect with them through social sites. I can know more about them. It’s good to build relationship among bloggers.

Why I choose Facebook and Twitter?

Facebook has reached 300 millions users at the time I write this post. I believe, people who have other social network account have Facebook account too. My friend granny, and her two little sisters also got Facebook account. See? This is a power of Facebook. Besides, Facebook allows you to create Fan Page like I did. Problogger like, Darren, David Risley and John Chow also have their own Fan Page. Why I need a fan page while I already had a normal Facebook? My answer is easy – always expand your network and make use all Facebook features. Besides, my normal profile is for my close friends which is I share with them my daily ramblings. While my fan page is for those who want to learn about what I’m doing online. My advice is go create your own fan page and you will know it works like autoresponder.

Promotions that you should not do at early stage of blogging.

1. Don’t use autoresponder to do email marketing because you don’t have any subscriber yet. Just use Feedburner.
2. Don’t use article marketing or online marketing articles because you better produce article for your blog first.
3. Don’t go for paid marketing, always go for free. But if you want to, go ahead.
